"Fire and Ice" Show
Challenge
- Any means of construction may be used that results in three layers (top, batting,
backing).
- The mini-quilts perimeter must not exceed 96 inches.
- The mini-quilt must contain the five colours of the Olympic rings (blue, yellow, black
green and red) but they should not be displayed as rings.
- The mini-quilt may include embellishments of any kind, including, but not limited to:
- buttons, trinkets, charms, hand or machine embroidery, ribbon, appliqué or other
attachments. The mini-quilt must not weigh more than five pounds!
- The entry must be quilted.
- Each entry must be the sole work of one (1) person (including quilting stitches).
- Your entry must have been started and completed since September 2008 and may not have
been shown at any other shows.
- Only one entry per person.
- The quilt must have a four inch hanging sleeve. It must be sewn onto the back of the
quilt to allow the quilt to be easily hung.
- No pre-quilted fabric; no pre-printed whole-cloth quilt tops; no kit quilts may be used.
- Just like the loonie buried at center ice during the Salt Lake City games,
your mini-quilt must have a Canadian flag hidden or visible somewhere in it. This rule
really means hidden in plain sight.
- The mini-quilt must have a sewn-on fabric label on either bottom corner and include the
name of the designer.
